In early May, the Supreme Court allowed a policy banning transgender, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming people from the military to go into effect. Now, tens of thousands of trans service members are at risk of losing their jobs. Let’s be clear: There is no national security rationale for the ban. The Trump administration’s only goal is to frighten and intimidate trans service members and their families. 

They will stop at nothing to force trans people out of public life — even at the expense of the stability, resilience, and morale of our armed forces.
