Voter Engagement
Voting is a fundamental right and a powerful catalyst for change. For the trans community, participating in elections is not just about casting a ballot; it's about influencing the decisions that directly impact our lives.
From healthcare to education to legal recognition, the policies shaped by elected officials deeply affect the trans community. Our programs aim to amplify our voices in the political arena so that our community can push back on extremist attacks and obtain the resources we need to thrive.
We focus on reaching transgender and nonbinary individuals who are eligible to vote. This includes those who are not registered to vote, are unaware of the voting process, or feel disenfranchised by the political process. We work to equip individuals with the knowledge and resources to overcome obstacles to voting. Whether it's addressing name and gender marker discrepancies on identification documents or providing guidance on navigating voting laws, we are committed to ensuring that every transgender voice is heard in local, state, and federal elections.
We also encourage and empower allies of the trans community to use their vote in support of their trans family members, friends, and neighbors.
Our voter engagement programs aim to empower the trans community at all levels of the democratic process. Our primary goal is to ensure that every member of the trans community - and our allies - are registered, informed on voter protection, and voting in elections at all levels.
We achieve this through our Transform the Vote campaign and our voter protection guides.
Transform the Vote is a community-led effort which provides comprehensive resources on voter registration. We collaborate with local organizations and community leaders to reach a broader audience and foster a supportive network for voter registration.
Our voter protection guides educate trans people on their rights at the ballot box.
