WASHINGTON, DC – The National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE) is pleased to announce that the deadline to take the U.S. Trans Survey has been extended to Monday, Dec. 5

Tens of thousands of trans people have already taken the survey, surpassing the number of respondents that completed the survey when it was last offered in 2015. To make sure all trans voices are counted, NCTE has extended the deadline by two weeks, giving trans people from every corner of the country more time to complete the survey.

The U.S. Trans Survey is the main source of data about transgender people, covering health, employment, income, the criminal justice system and other aspects of life. The community-led survey is conducted by trans people for people who are trans, nonbinary or otherwise not cisgender. This time around, trans youth as young as 16 can take survey and share their stories.

The 2022 survey is on track to be the largest trans survey in U.S. history. Trans advocates including Alok Vaid-Menon, Big Freedia, Rain Dove, Rose Montoya, Rey Resendez, Schuyler Bailar, Shea Diamond, TS Madison, and have joined other influencers in supporting the survey, and many will be hosting livestreams from their social media accounts in the coming days. Follow @transequalitynow on Instagram to join the events.

Transgender people can take the survey at ustranssurvey.org now through Dec. 5, 2022. All survey responses will be anonymous and will not be used to identify respondents.
